Stephen's World
Northeast Harbour - Portland, Maine

Absolutely pissing down this morning. I’m talking biblical proportions.

Had breakfast with all the other old people in camp B&B. Most of them didn’t seem to mind the rain as they were only waiting to die anyway.

Got to get out of here. Hit the road running at 9am having been woken early by all the old people making a lot of noise shuffling around.

First stop; The Hinckley yacht building yard in Bar Harbour. Jeff had conned the poor buggers into expecting him and his multi millionaire friend who was thinking of trading in his Riva for Hinckley picnic boat at $1,000,000 a pop.

The guy that showed us around was brilliant. Neither of us had been to a ship yard before. Dead cool. It’s all about making wood bend round corners and varnish. Lots of varnish. Loved it, we learned a lot. One yacht has a lot of people working on it that’s for sure.

Then the sun came out and I span some good driving sounds. The car was running like a dream. It was becoming “Fear and Loathing” again, rather than “Driving miss Daisy” which is what it was in danger of becoming.

Headed to the place that has been feeding Jeff’s sickness; www.goldenrod-garage.com.

Check this out. 300 cars ready to restore or that have been restored. Awesome! We spent 2 hours there. Better than any car museum. I picked mine; silver blue Chevelle SS 396 - 100% muscle which could make up for my lack of them. Neil the owner was about to sell Jeff a truck, when I said “Stop. Don’t you know he is sick?” Neil was having none of it. He replied “But its legal”, to which I replied “not to a man in his condition, it’s like selling candy to a fat kid, it’s just not right”.

Better luck next time Neil, when I’m not there.

We are spending the night together in the same room in Portland Maine. We have done it before and don’t worry, I know what you are thinking but it’s ok, Jeff gave me ear protection.

This is the last night before we head back to NYC.

Looking for a big one.
