On my way to NY with my travelling companion Richard Young. Got off to a dodgy start. Half way to Heathrow I realised for the first time in my life that I had forgotten my passport. Having already cut it fine time wise I figured I would be missing this one. While Assia was getting dressed and about to follow me round the M25 with the thing in hand, I went to the BA desk to tell them I was here but not quite. The woman at the counter said she had been told by special services that she was to check me and my bag in and send me through security without a passport. This was not just a shock to me but to her also. Matt from BA SS met me on the other side, took me to the first class lounge to meet Richard and then went back outside to meet Assia and deliver my passport to me.
Whatever people say about BA, that was bloody good service.
Tonight we are going to Tracey Emin’s opening party (hoping I don’t have to carry her to the car again as those photo’s in the mail after the GQ awards were a bit near the mark), followed by an after party at the Standard.
Friday is my launch event at Saks 5th Avenue for my Seven Deadly Sins couture collection. We have been working on these rings for months. They really are little works of art. My favourite is Lust. An orgy of legs arms and other bits with the money shot being an amazing Tanzanite set in the centre.
I have seven models on Friday all dressed as their relevant sin. Someone’s got to do it.
After the launch party we pick up my Thunderbird in NYC and head up the Hudson, spending the night at my mate Jeff’s house, all ready for our first day on the road Saturday.
I have loaded up the IPod for the trip but as I am old school, I still found 35 CD’s that are not on the gadget and packed them too.
This year the trip takes us from NY up into Canada, Montreal, Quebec, back state side to Maine, Boston and eventually one week later to NY. The T’bird is well and truly tuned, lubed and manicured.
Watch this space for more adventures on the road with Stephen, Jeffrey and Richard.
Collectively 165 years old. We have every toilet on the route planned way ahead.
